Location: Mar Grande, Itaparica Island – BA
Size: 620 sqm GFA
This modern residence was designed with large roof eaves for shading, which received a corten steel cladding, thus creating together with the vertical elements a striking visual unity.
The house and a part of the plot were elevated by half a storey upwards, ensuring a view of the All Saints Bay and the city of Salvador as well as providing better cross ventilation. The entrance leads into a double height glazed hall, the high walls allow for the display of large-sized art.
A sculptural staircase leads to a bridge that separates the master suite from the guest suites on the upper floor. The residence has a large living room integrated to the terrace, an open kitchen with integrated dining, 5 suites and also a semi-buried basement with garage, storage and service area. Two terraces were designed: one well ventilated with sea view and the other facing the West and protected from winter storms. The colors of the facade were chosen by the owner according to the different uses.
